Nienke Marijnissen

This week’s journal, Nienke Marijnissen – Chairman

Every week a board member or consultant will talk you through a small biography, and more importantly, a little insight into their life, what parts of their agenda are devoted to time, and what parts aren’t.

This week it’s my turn, and I’ll give you some insights into my life and my role as the Chairman of TIME. But first, let me quickly introduce myself!

My name is Nienke Marijnissen and I’m 21 years old. I grew up in Bavel, a small town near Breda. I have been playing football here for over 10 years and I still enjoy doing this. At the beginning of my bachelor Business Economics, I still lived with my parents in Bavel. After I went on exchange in Canada at McMaster University, it was time to move to Tilburg. Living in Canada and all the amazing things I have seen and experienced, was definitely the best experience of my life so far. After finishing my bachelor, I decided to start the masters Marketing Management and Marketing Analytics. At the end of my bachelor last year, TIME was looking for consultants, but unfortunately it did not fit in my agenda back then. However, after half a year, I was still really enthusiastic about TIME and that’s why I applied for a board function at TIME this year.

In my function as chairman, I am responsible for all decisions within TIME and I am the link between the advisory board, professors of the University and this year’s board. So, it is my duty to keep in mind our long-term goals, phase planning and our overall brand awareness. Thereby, with the scheduling, planning and assigning activities I make sure that every activity is executed properly, and every board member is happy with their tasks and duties.

TIME is taking over quite a bit of my time, but it is all worth it. I enjoy spending my time on TIME and find it important to build a good relationship with the entire team. Next to this beautiful project, I work at Albert Heijn as shift leader of the checkout. In my spare time, I like to have drinks with friends, play football and tennis and I like to go to festivals and travel the world (when Covid is not around).

Do you want to know more about TIME and our current project? Add me on LinkedIn or send me a message and I’m happy to tell you all about it.

Until next TIME!
