Mateo Malbasic

This week’s journal, Mateo Malbasic – Consultant

Every week a board member or consultant will talk you through a small biography, and more importantly, a little insight into their life, what parts of their agenda are devoted to time, and what parts aren’t.

This week it’s my turn, and I’ll give you some insights into my life and my role as a consultant of TIME. But first, let me quickly introduce myself!

My name is Mateo Malbasic and I am 21 years old. I grew up in a town named Vught which lies close to ’s-Hertogenbosch. My parents and family are from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and this is the reason why I always wanted to do an international bachelor and master. I finished my BSc Economics in 2020 and after that I started my MSc Economics. Next to all the theory we learn at university I wanted to gain more experience in realtime business cases and projects. Therefore, I wanted to join TIME as a consultant!

The core tasks as a consultant are doing acquisition of companies and conducting the desk and field research forthese companies. While doing this acquisition you learn to develop yourself as a person and how to communicate with people at a certain position in a firm. This will of course help me later in my career after I finish my studies. In addition, I have to deal with many different companies within many sectors. This is often fun and interesting because you will come across firms which sell products that you never thought of, or bigger companies which you clearly know what they are about. This diversity of acquisition for these firms keeps the work very interesting.

Next to my studies and TIME, I am a tutor for high school students, a football trainer and I play football too. Other activities that I like to do in my free time are having a drink and going to parties and festivals.

If you have any questions about being a consultant for TIME or just general question about our organization, you could always send me a message on LinkedIn!

Until next TIME!
