Floor Penning de Vries

This week’s journal, Floor Penning de Vries – Consultant

Every week a board member or consultant will talk you through a small biography, and more importantly, a little insight into their life, what parts of their agenda are devoted to time and what parts aren’t.

This week it is my time to tell you something about my life of a consultant of TIME. My name is Floor Penning de Vries and I am very happy to be able to say that I joint TIME as a consultant a short while ago. Currently I am doing a masters in Marketing Management  at Tilburg University. I was born in the beautiful city of Nijmegen but decided to move to Tilburg when I started my masters last September. Although my hometown will forever be my favorite Dutch city, I really enjoy living in Tilburg. I love the ‘Brabant’ atmosphere and the fact that there are a lot of students living here.

I did a Bachelor in Business Economics at the University of Applied Science Avans in the lovely city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. I graduated July 2017, so nearly two years ago. During my bachelor I studied abroad twice, I did an internship in Curaçao and a minor at the University of Bilbao (Spain). Once I graduated, I continued working at the firm where I did my graduation internship, SGS. After a few months working here, I decided to pack my backpack and left the Netherlands to explore Australia for about 8 months. Besides exploring and enjoying this beautiful county, I also worked for over 4 months. Although this work had nothing to do with economics or marketing, this was a great experience. I met a lot of new people, gained a lot of new working experiences and learned a lot about different cultures and nationalities. During my time abroad my interest for foreign culture grew. This is the main reason why I applied to become a consultant at TIME.

Currently we are very busy with the acquisition period. Although I just started a few weeks ago, I hope to contribute by making companies enthusiastic about exploring their opportunities in China and/or Japan with TIME. I am already very excited to leave for Shanghai, Tokyo and Osaka in October.
